Yankees officially add Frazier, Robertson and Kahnle to roster

Prior to Wednesday’s series finale against the Minnesota Twins, the Yankees have officially added 3B Todd Frazier (No. 29), RHP David Robertson (No. 30), and RHP Tommy Kahnle (No. 48) to the roster.

With the departure of Tyler Clippard, there was an open 40-man spot. But the team still had to vacate two more spots.

So what did they do?

To make room on the 40-man roster, the Yankees designated INF Ji-Man Choi and INF/OF Rob Refsnyder for assignment. The Yankees also optioned LHP Chasen Shreve to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

It’s worth noting OF Clint Frazier will now wear No. 77. He previously had Robertson’s #30.
