Severino, who was recalled to make the start in yesterday’s game following the injury to Nathan Eovaldi, had another terrible outing on Sunday. Â In just 3.2 innings of work, Severino allowed seven runs on eight hits with one walk and seven strikeouts.
Severino was previously optioned to work on his changeup, which was a pitch that he used to feature much more. Â After his last stint in Triple-A, he pitched out of the bullpen and looked good, but still only featured his fastball and slider for the most part.
“I’m not throwing it a lot because I don’t have the same confidence I had two years ago,” he said.  “It’s difficult to be a starter with two pitches, so I have to work.”
With Severino heading back to Scranton, the Yankees announced this morning they have recalled right-handed pitcher Chad Green.
ROSTER MOVE: The @Yankees have recalled RHP Chad Green from Triple-A @swbrailriders. Green will start tonight vs. Toronto.

Green has appeared in eight games this season, making four starts and four relief appearances in the Bronx. Â He has looked better as a reliever than a starter thus far. Â In 27.1 innings of work, he has a 4.94 ERA, allowing 15 runs on 30 hits with 10 walks and 29 strikeouts.
Green will start tonight for the Yankees opposite R.A. Dickey who will be on the mound for the Toronto Blue Jays.
