Prior to Friday night’s game against the Boston Red Sox, the Yankees placed LHP CC Sabathia on the 10-day disabled list with right knee inflammation. The move is retroactive to August 9th.
As a corresponding move, the Yankees have recalled RHP Jordan Montgomery from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Montgomery will replace Sabathia in the rotation, and will start on Sunday night.
The Yankees have also reinstated INF Tyler Austin from the 10-day disabled list, and optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
