Yankees place Clint Frazier on seven-day DL

Prospects have been the hot topic in New York and the Yankees have more news on a top-notch prospect, this time revealing  Clint Frazier is heading to the Disabled list.

The news comes on the heels of Saturday night’s game when Frazier was taken out in the 11th inning. Donovan Solano pinch hit for the recently acquired prospect.

Frazier, 21, is hitting .264 in the minors this season with his time in the Indians and Yankees systems. With Scranton Wilkes-Barre, the outfielder owns a .229 batting average with two home runs in 24 games played.

Acquired from Indians at the trade deadline, Frazier has been deemed the Yankees top prospect by MLB.com before the injury.

The extent of the injury is unknown at the time, but with the Triple-A season in its last legs, Frazier may miss the rest of the minor league regular season.

Nine more games remain on the Railriders schedule, with the team leading the International League North standings by four games.

We will continue to provide updates on Frazier’s status, and you can follow us on twitter @BronxPinstripes for the latest news on Frazier and the Yankees.
