The Yankees have agreed to a one-year, $3.2 million deal with Phil Hughes, avoiding arbitration.
The contract also carries some performance-based bonuses. Hughes was eligible for salary arbitration this winter for the second time in his career. He made $2.7 million in 2011 while posting a 5.79 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 47/27 K/BB ratio across 74 2/3 innings of work.
