The New York Yankees have traded third baseman Chase Headley and starter Bryan Mitchell to the San Diego Padres, reports Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

The Padres are sending outfielder Jabari Blash, who made his MLB debut last season, to the Yankees. San Diego will also take on the remaining $13 Million of Headley’s contract.
The deal will allow the Yankees to shed payroll, and will allow the Padres to add legitimate Major League talent to their roster.
