BREAKING: Yankees’ Tyler Austin out at least six weeks with broken foot

According to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, Yankees first baseman Tyler Austin will miss the next six weeks with a small fracture in his left foot. He suffered the injury four days ago while taking batting practice.

Austin isn’t the only Yankee who is injured. Outfield prospect Mason Williams will be out for two weeks with inflammation of his left patella tendon.

In 31 games as a rookie last season, Austin hit .241 with five home runs and 12 RBI. Williams, who separated his right shoulder in June 2015, played in 31 games with Triple-A last season, finishing with an average of .296.
