Judge excited for his opportunity with the Yankees

Aaron Judge was optioned to minor league camp just a few days ago, but the 23-year-old definitely impressed many people within the Yankees organization while he was with the big league team this spring.

This is the second time the Yankees have invited their 2013 first round draft pick to big league camp,  as the young prospect earned the opportunity to gain some valuable experiences as he works to get ready for the start of the 2016 season.

Veterans such as Carlos Beltran and Alex Rodriguez embraced him and many members of the organization stopped what they were doing to watch him take batting practice. Needless to say, many people within the Yankees organization have high hopes for Judge.

During the 2015 season, Judge led all Yankee minor leaguers with 20 home runs and 72 RBIs, splitting time between the organization’s Double-A and Triple-A teams. He currently ranks as the team’s No. 2 prospect according to MLB Pipeline.

The Yankees are in no rush to bring Judge to the big leagues. The club plans on having him  start the season in Triple-A, which will allow him to continue working on improving his swing and consistency at the plate. With a surplus of outfielders on the big league roster, Judge will have the opportunity to get everyday at bats in Triple-A, and if the opportunity presents itself, Judge could find himself playing baseball in the Bronx very soon.

In an interview with Danny Wild of Milb.com, Judge spoke about numerous topics during the interview, including some of his experiences with the big league team this spring, the pressures of being a top prospect, and also what he looks to improve on this season.
