.266/.319/.322, 81 hits, 2 home runs, 21 runs batted in

Not necessarily going for his 2014 contributions but going for his contributions to the game of baseball over his Hall of Fame career. The fans voted for the Yankees shortstop and regardless of the season, he deserves to be at his last All-Star Game of his career. He will be acknowledged at the event and it will be a special moment for The Captain.

Masahiro Tanaka, P (1st All-Star selection)

12-3, 2.27 ERA, 122.2 innings, 130 strikeouts, 0.97 WHIP

The rookie Japanese import has been worth every penny spent and justifiably receives the recognition with a nod at the All-Star Game. The schedule of the season will determine if he will actually participate in the Midsummer Classic but this will certainly be the first of many All-Star games for Masahiro Tanaka.

Dellin Betances, P (1st All-Star selection)

4-0, 1.61 ERA, 50.1 innings, 78 strikeouts, 0.76 WHIP

After failing for years as a starting pitcher, Dellin Betances was moved into the bullpen and the 6’8″ Betances shines bright in this role. His outstanding 13.9 K/9 and down right dominance with a near 100 MPH fastball and a sharp breaking ball has been recognized as he gets his first All-Star selection as a setup reliever.
