Yankees outfielder, Brett Gardner, saw Dr. Timothy Kremchek today, who agreed with a previous diagnosis – elbow muscle strain, bone bruised and joint inflammation, that have not fully healed, the Yankees said in a statement.
Gardner received a PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and a cortisone shot in the elbow today. Doctors have recommended that Gardner give the elbow 3-4 weeks of rest with an elbow brace to ensure compliance with the rest.
The 28-year-old has suffered two setbacks in his attempt to return from the elbow injury, which landed him on the disabled list in mid-April.
