Playoff Push: Yankees fall to 3 games back of Rays

 

The Yankees suffered a tough loss to the Orioles last night, as Chris Tillman dominated the Yanks. With the Rays having an off day, the Yanks dropped a .5 game and are now 3 games back of the Rays, who start a 3 game series at home with the Red Sox tonight. Here are how the teams in contention fared yesterday:

Rangers: 1-0 loss vs Pirates. Gerrit Cole pitches 7 scoreless innings with 9 strikeouts.

Rays: OFF

Orioles: 4-2 win vs Yankees. Chris Tillman shuts down Yankees.

Indians: 4-3 win vs Royals. Ubaldo Jimenez strikes out 10 in 7 innings.

Yankees: 4-2 loss vs Orioles. CC Sabathia goes 7.1, but not enough for Yanks.

Royals: 4-3 loss vs Indians.Β Ervin Santana done in by 3 solo home runs.
