Report: Alex Rodriguez to rejoin Yankees Thursday

Alex Rodriguez will start in one more game for the Trenton Thunder on Wednesday night, and is expected to rejoin the team for the final game against the Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium on Thursday. A-Rod went 2-for-4 with an RBI single Tuesday night in his first rehab game.

The Yankees have been on a roll ever since A-Rod went down with a right hamstring strain on May 4. They’ve climbed out of the cellar in the AL East and into third place, finally getting back to .500 at 22-22. Carlos Beltran has thrived in the DH spot in A-Rod’s absence, hitting .294/.338/.676 with six homers, 19 RBI and eight doubles over the last three weeks.

Beltran is expected to move back to RF once A-Rod is activated.
