Yankees Game 144 Lineup: 9/15/12

Nova needs a win to boost his own confidence, as well as the Yankees as the season winds down

Once again the ace in the Bronx failed to produce a quality start for the club, resulting in another loss for C.C. Sabathia, three straight, and another opportunity for the Yankees to pull ahead in the division wasted. Luckily for them though, the Orioles missed out on the same chance losing to the A’s last night, leaving the two teams once again tied for first place in the AL East.

Things are starting to look up a little bit in New York however, as they are welcoming back some of their starters who’ve spent some stints on the DL, beginning tonight when Ivan Nova takes the mound for the Yankees. Nova’s spent the majority of the season under scrutiny as he’s been inconsistent and unreliable, especially since the all-star break. But he can silence critics today with a solid performance and much-needed victory as the seasons end comes to a close.
