Phelps To Rotation, Garcia To Bullpen


Right-hander David Phelps has been promoted to the starting rotation after Freddy Garcia was demoted to the bullpen. Phelps is expected to start this Thursday against the Kansas City Royals, reports Jack Curry of YES Network.

In 17.2 inning of long relief, Phelps has a 3.57 ERA with 12 hits and 14 strikeouts.

Freddy Garcia had a horrendous start to the season! In 4 starts, Garcia pitched 13.2 innings going 0-2 with a 12.51 ERA.

Earlier today, Cody Eppley was optioned to Triple-A after D.J. Mitchell was called up.
