Yankees sign Pettitte to a one-year, $12 million contract

The Yankees have agreed to sign Andy Pettitte to a one-year, $12 million contract, tweets Ken Davidoff of the New York Post.

In 12 regular season starts this past season, Pettitte (5-4) posted a 2.87 ERA with 8.2 K/9, 2.5 BB/9 in 75 1/3 innings, while earning $2.5 million.

With the southpaw signed for the 2013 season, the Yankees rotation is set. C.C. Sabathia as the front man, Kuroda, Pettitte and Hughes behind him with Ivan Nova and David Phelps left to fight for the fifth spot in the rotation.
