Fall Baseball Is Coming – The Bronx Pinstripes Show #32

Fall baseball is upon us, and the Yankees are poised to be in the playoffs for the first time in 3 years. After taking care of Boston, the Yanks headed home to start a 10 game home stand. Scott and I break down everything that went right and wrong vs the Red Sox and Rays, Severino’s continued success, and discuss the Teixeira injury saga. We ended with an interesting mailbag question regarding current MLB managers.

Mark Teixeira, who has been out since August 26, was officially placed on the DL this week. Both Cashman and Girardi have said Tex will not be able to play for at least 2 weeks, despite him being eligible to come off the DL on September 10. This injury has spiraled out of control and it is not a given that Tex will be back this season. Without him, I’m not sure the offense is good enough to make a playoff run.

Some good news on the injury front however (depending on how you look at it): CC will return this week and make a start vs Baltimore. The Yanks will go to a 6 man rotation, which is good because they need all the arms they can get right now.

The Yankees took care of business vs Boston and Tampa, and have a huge stretch vs Baltimore and Toronto coming up. Check out the full series recaps here: series vs Bostonseries vs Tampa.
