First week blues turned into Sunday night fun in the blink of an eye!
Scott and I recorded this episode Sunday night and missed the Yankees 7 run rally vs Buchholz…so maybe the trick is we just can’t watch games. But once we saw the good news we jumped back on the mic to talk about it.
We started off by recapping the opening week, which was bad all around. Even though its early and its a long season, what we saw was sloppy defense, no ability to hit or move runners, and up-and-down starting pitching. Scott and I break it all down and (try) to find some positives in the wreckage.
Cashman was also on with Francesa on Friday and talked about the first series with Toronto. He echoed a similar sentiment — he was disappointed with the sloppy play, but still confident the hitting will be good this season. He also talked about Refsnyder and some of the other young guys in the minors.
The Yanks have a big road trip starting tonight in Baltimore. Then they go to Tampa and finish with 4 vs Detroit, who is on fire right now. The next time we’ll see the Yankees in the Bronx it will be against the Mets at the end of April.
