New York is a Yankees City – The Bronx Pinstripes Show #34

The Yankees rolled into Queens this weekend with the Mets flying high and their fans claiming that New York was now a Mets town. Well the Yankees took care of business and reclaimed New York as a Yankees city. Scott and Andrew discuss everything that happened vs Tampa and the Mets, talk about the news of Tanaka’s next start being skipped, and break down some of Girardi’s questionable moves.

It seems like we can’t go a week without some injury news coming from the Yankees. This time it’s Tanaka, who suffered a grade 1 hamstring strain while running the bases on Friday night. All reports say that if this was a playoff game, Tanaka would start, but this could not come at a worse time since the Yankees are heading into Toronto for a critical 3 game series to try and win the AL East.

The Yanks did win 4 of 6 game this past week but it did not come without some questioning Girardi. Most fans would like to see the kids play more because it seems like every time they get in, they produce. Also Joe’s bullpen management has cost this team some games and caused guys like Shreve and Betances to be tired. Furthermore, it seems like he only trusts Miller and Betances.
