Welcome, Aroldis Chapman – The Bronx Pinstripes Show #50

Episode 50! This week we react to the surprising Aroldis Chapman trade and what it means for the Yankees in 2016. We discuss if the Yankees will now trade Andrew Miller or if they plan to use the three-headed bullpen monster, what order they’ll be used in, if Chapman will fit into the Yankees clubhouse, and his looming suspension. We also talk about the Al Jazeera HGH report, why people care so much more about PED use in MLB versus NFL, and the Jets vs Pats in week 16.

There is no question that Chapman helps the Yankees immensely in 2016. He has been one of the best relief pitchers in baseball since he came into the league and routinely is near the top of the league in Ks per 9 innings pitched. He averages 100mph with his fastball, which will certainly bring an “awe” factor to the stadium. There are big questions with his character though. The domestic violence charges against him caused the Dodgers to back down from acquiring him last month. His trade value came down so much since then that Cashman couldn’t say no to the Reds offer. If Chapman can get his act together and take responsibility for his actions, he should be a valuable addition to the roster.
