MLB announces Spring Training workout dates

Fear not, Yankees fans: Spring Training is quickly approaching!

On Monday afternoon, Major League Baseball released the first set of workout dates for all 30 MLB teams in advance of this year’s Spring Training.

With the announcement, the Yankees pitchers and catchers will have their first workout of the season on February 19. That day will mark the official debut of some new Yankees, including closer Aroldis Chapman.

If you’re looking for some other new faces such as Starlin Castro and Aaron Hicks, you’re going to have to wait a few days. On February 25, just six days after pitchers and catchers report to the facility, the full roster will have their first Spring Training workout. That will be the first full chance to see the 2016 Yankees together in action.

After that, it won’t be long before the Yankees are playing in Spring Training games. The team is set to open up their Spring Training schedule on March 1,  as they will take on the Detroit Tigers at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida.
