Yankees getting a head start on workouts

Even though Spring Training doesn’t officially start until Feb. 18, some Yankees players are getting a head start on the 2016 season.

According to Erik Boland of Newsday, Michael Pineda, Andrew Miller, Luis Severino, Aaron Hicks, Ben Gamel, Aaron Judge, Bryan Mitchell and last year’s first-round draft pick James Kaprielian were among those working out in Tampa this morning. The season is a marathon and not a sprint, so a little early preparation is always a good thing.

We should start to hear about more guys showing up early to the Yankees’ Spring Training complex as the report date approaches. It’s good to see some of the young prospects and established veterans working out together, along with the newly-acquired Yankees.

Baseball is truly around the corner.
