Adam Warren started today’s game for the Yankees and did not do as bad as his statistics show. In 4 innings, Warren gave up four runs on six hits but three of the four runs came on outs. Reliever Chase Whitley gave up a pair of runs in his inning of work, including a run-scoring triple. Shawn Kelley continues to work to earn a spot on the Yankees bullpen with a scoreless inning of work.
Brett Gardner was held hitless for his second straight game but was able to reach base again with a walk. Melky Mesa got two hits and scored once as he continues to be a front-runner for the vacant outfield spot with Curtis Granderson’s injury. Thomas Neal brought in the only run on a double in the 4th inning.
