Sometimes you just need to get away from it all. A road trip can often help a team bond and find chemistry, without the distractions of home. Monday evening, the New York Yankees took what they hope is the first step to that end. In fact, a Texas two step. An impressive 3-1 victory over the Texas Rangers, fueled by power pitching and power hitting.
Once again as the late great Yogi Berra once said, “You can observe a lot by watching.” Here’s what I observed in the Yankees victory.
Mr. Eovaldi, if you’re nasty:
Nasty Nate was on point, in the house the “Ryan Express” built. Though Nolan never toed that exact rubber in Arlington, Nathan Eovaldi was inspired by his idol. Eovaldi carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning, before the dreaded infield shift did him in. Cruising along en route to his first win of 2016, Eovaldi threw seven scoreless frames of two hit ball, striking out six.

Jacoby jack:
Jacoby Ellsbury finally got on the board and got the Yankees on the board as well. In the third, Ellsbury smacked his first home run of the season, a two-run shot off Cesar Ramos. Ellsbury is batting .304 across his past seven contests.
