Keeping tabs on every home run for the New York Yankees this season. There wasn’t much offense to speak of in the Yanks 6-2 loss Friday at Oakland. However, Brian McCann did keep his power surge going.
McCann’s solo home run in the fifth inning, broke up Sonny Gray’s no hit bid and got New York on the board. It was McCann’s fourth straight contest with a home run, making him the first Yanks catcher to do so since Mike Stanley in 1993. It was also McCann’s eighth bomb of the season.
On the season the Bronx Bombers now have 62 round trippers.
