Keeping tabs on every home run for the New York Yankees this season. It takes Drew baby. A long distance Tex. Stephen Drew and Mark Teixeira, along with a four-hit effort by Alex Rodriguez, helped power the Yankees to an 8-7 victory, edging the Los Angeles Angels.

During the second stanza, Drew delivered a two-run tater to right, on a 2-2 pitch from Jered Weaver, making it 2-0 New York. The homer was Drew’s sixth of the season and 103rd of his career.

In the ensuing frame, Teixeira socked a two-run shot to right, on an 0-1 pitch from Weaver, doubling the lead to 4-0. For Teixeira, it was his 17th of the year, 177th as a Yankee and the 380th of his career.

Then in the sixth, Drew was back at it again. A lined laser to right on a 1-1 pitch from Weaver, made it 7-1 Yanks. The round tripper accounted for Drew’s second of the contest and seventh of the campaign.

On the year the Bombers have 70 home runs.
