It was a pair of homers by Drew and Carlos Beltran which kept the Yankees alive, until ultimately falling to the Cleveland Indians 5-4 in 16 innings.
With the Yankees trailing the Tribe 2-0 in the sixth, Drew drilled a solo shot to right, off Carlos Carrasco. It was home run number 14 for Drew and cut the Cleveland lead in half.
Jumping to the eighth inning, Beltran swatted a solo wall scraper to right, also off Carrasco. Beltran’s tenth round tripper was the equalizer, making it a 2-2 game.
The Bronx Bombers have 149 home runs on the campaign.
