Bronx Bombers home run alert boomsticks and broomsticks

Keeping tabs on every home run for the New York Yankees this season. I can’t imagine why Robinson Cano is unhappy in Seattle, the Yankees seemed downright giddy in their trip to the Emerald City. Following a 3-1 victory and a three-game sweep of the M’s, the Yanks will ride their boomsticks and broomsticks back to New York. Orchestrating the offense this afternoon were Mark Teixeira and Garrett Jones.

Teixeira, who smacked a grand slam in the first game, put the Yanks out front in the second stanza. On a 2-1 pitch from Taijuan Walker, Teixeira planted a solo shot to right for his 16th home run of the year. It was also Teixeira’s 176th as a Yankee and the 379th of his career.

Moving to the fourth, with the game knotted at one, Jones swatted his second round tripper in as many games and third of the season. Jones’ two-run shot to right, off a 2-1 pitch from Walker, gave the Yanks a 3-1 lead they’d never relinquish.

On the campaign the Bronx Bombers have 67 home runs.
