Bronx Bombers home run alert boomsticks and broomsticks

Keeping tabs on every home run for the New York Yankees this season. Following a 6-2 dismantling of the Los Angeles Angels, the Yankees have now won six straight contests and swept two consecutive series. Once again, Yankee Stadium served as a launching pad. Chris Young, Brett Gardner and for the first time Jose Pirela, found the seats, all taking C.J. Wilson yard.

In the fifth frame, Young homered to left for his seventh of the season. The equalizer knotted the game at one.

During the same frame, Gardner rode the deciding blast out of town. Gardy’s three-run lined smash to right, gave the Yanks a 5-2 advantage. It was Gardner’s fifth of the campaign.

Topping off the scoring was Pirela’s solo shot to left-center in the seventh. Pirela’s first career homer made it 6-2 New York.

On the season the Bombers have 74 home runs.
