Bronx Bombers home run alert: Tex message

Keeping tabs on every home run for the New York Yankees this season. The Yanks played snow ball and still managed to play long ball against the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday. A 13-4 rout moved the Bombers above the .500 mark, at 8-7. Long after the damage was done, Mark Teixeira went yard for good measure in the seventh inning. New York is tied atop the MLB lead with Toronto, hitting 21 home runs in the early going.

Teixeira’s tater was a three-run bomb, off (yes he’s a real pitcher, Mike Francesa) Al Alburquerque. Hitting his fifth home run of the year, Teixeira is tied for third in homers in MLB. Tex also tied Bill “Moose” Skowron, for 24th on the Yankees franchise list, hitting 165 home runs in Pinstripes. It was Tex’s 368th career homer as well.
