Keeping tabs on every home run for the New York Yankees this season. For the second time in as many contests, Mark Teixeira went yard twice and the Bronx Bombers blew into the Windy City, crushing the Chicago White Sox 13-6. Teixeira became the fifth Yankees player with consecutive multiple home runs games since 1975, joining Alfonso Soriano, Jason Giambi (twice) and Paul O’Neill.
With the Yankees ahead 2-0 and the bases loaded in the second stanza, Teixeira batting from the right side of the plate, smashed a grand slam to center, off Carlos Rodon. It was home run number 27 on the season for Tex and staked the Yanks to a 6-0 advantage.
