Yankees Game 139 Lineup: 9/8/12

C.C. and the rest of the Yankee lineup need to be pumped up for this game tonight and bring home a big win

Back on top in the AL East are the Yankees after a key win last night in Baltimore. It’s been a back and forth battle for them in the past week or so and for today, they maintain sole possession of first place in their division. The offense seems to be waking up slightly over the past few games and the team is getting healthier as some important players are beginning to return to the roster again.

With Yankee ace, C.C. Sabathia on the mound tonight, they’re set up for a good opportunity to maintain and extend their division lead by a hair. Sabathia has looked a little flat since his return from the DL, but will have a chance to bounce back in a big way for the club tonight. He’s had great success throughout his career against the Oriole’s. He owns a 16-3 record and  2.97 ERA lifetime versus them, similar production tonight will surely put them in position for a win.

Opposing pitcher, Joe Saunders for the O’s, will start tonight and his track record against the Bombers is another story. His experience against them is minimal as is his success. The Yankee lineup needs to continue to liven up because it’s obvious how detrimental this series is to the standings and future morale of the club.
