After getting a much needed victory last night in Kansas City to snap their three-game losing streak, the Yankees will take on the Royals again tonight in game three of the four-game road series.
Hiroki Kuroda will be the starting pitcher for the Yankees tonight, following yet another strong performance by C.C. Sabathia last night. Kuroda opened the season looking shaky and inconsistent, but has made a turnaround for the better as of late. His last start against Baltimore, Kuroda was dominant, going seven innings giving up just four hits and one earned run, which resulted in a win in a tight game. With a record of 2-3, he will look to continue this improvement with another solid outing tonight against the Royals.
Felipe Paulino gets the start for the Royals in what will be his debut start on the season. Having little experience in the majors, none against the Yankees, Paulino has a tough task in trying to handle a bomber lineup that may be on the brink of breaking out at the plate.
The batting order finally seemed to have found some sort of groove last night. After their four-run, two-out rally in the seventh, on the back of a two-run homer from Derek Jeter, they pulled ahead 6-2 and maintained that score through the ninth for the victory. The Bronx Bombers will look to repeat this kind success tonight, as the lineup is still trying to find their swings.
