Yankees Game 36 Lineup: 05/15/12

C.C. Sabathia will attempt to keep his undefeated record in tact tonight when he faces the division leading Orioles

The Yankees pulled out a huge come-from-behind win last night in Baltimore. It was a back and forth battle throughout until the Yankees finally pulled ahead for good in the seventh inning. They’ll need to continue their winning ways again tonight against the Orioles, as they continue to claw their way back up the division ranks.

Now only 1.5 games behind Tampa Bay and Baltimore in the AL East, the Yankees have a good chance to inch their way closer tonight, when the ace C.C. Sabathia will take the mound for the pinstripes. Sabathia has been on an absolute tear recently winning five straight starts in dominant fashion as his ERA has dropped now to a 3.51. Showing no signs of slowing down, the Yankees hope for another controlling effort from their number one pitcher tonight.

Pitching has been a strong point for the Orioles as well. Wei-Yin Chen will enter tonight’s game with a 3-0 record and 2.43 ERA. The Yankees lineup has had their struggles at the plate in the early goings, but Robinson Cano, Mark Teixeira, and Alex Rodriquez seemed to have found their swings during the last few games. They’ll need to keep this going to maintain reliable offensive production.

The Yankees have to take two of these three games in Baltimore, winning this one, would no doubt make a sweep on the road much more realistic.
