Bronx Pinstripes’ 2021 free-agent predictions

Free agency officially began last week, and the Yankees are expected to be in play for some of the top dogs. Most importantly, many people in the game expect them to be in on the top two shortstops of the class: Carlos Correa and Corey Seager. In addition to those two, there are also many other quality players up for grab this offseason.

The past few years, I’ve asked for free agent predictions from the Bronx Pinstripes team. Here’s how we’ve done (best to turn device landscape)

Some notes:

  • Most people believed it is more likely the Yankees get Seager than Correa.
  • There’s no unanimous decision on where any one player will end up.
  • Delia has the Yankees getting Correa, Seager, and Freddie Freeman. Let’s hope she’s right!
  • Everyone predicted Starling Marte to go somewhere different.
  • No one had Trevor Story to the Yankees.
  • The players we were most divided on were Starling Marte (7 different teams), Nick Castellanos (6 different teams), Trevor Story (5 different teams), Marcus Semien (5 different teams), Robbie Ray (5 different teams), and Carlos Rodon (5 different teams).

We’ll just have to wait and see how these predictions turn out. With the ongoing labor dispute, who knows when players will end up signing. But I think we have a chance to outperform our previous years as a group. We’ll just have to wait and see.
