BRONX, N.Y. โ Every year in the New York Post baseball preview there’s a player poster. In my childhood bedroom was a pullout insert of Mariano Rivera trotting out of the bullpen at Yankee Stadium. The Post photographer of that iconic 2006 shot was Anthony J. Causi.
Last year, the beloved and talented photographer died last April from COVID-19, far too young at 48.
With his family on hand for a ceremony, this year the New York Yankees honored the late Causi with a plaque dedication in the first base photo well.

The plaque, which has a photo of Causi from the final game at the old Yankee Stadium in 2008, reads: โA passionate talent, who always got his shot,โ the plaqueย reads. โHe captured history with extraordinary excellence and uncommon care. His luminous spirit and brilliant images remain with us forever.โ
