Slowly but surely, Aaron Boone is leaking his starting rotation to fans.
Gerrit Cole is officially scheduled to start on Opening Day. He'll pitch next on Friday prior to New York's exhibition games.
Coming off a sixth day of rest, with the added adrenaline of opening the season against the defending champs, July 23 is a must watch start for No. 45.

In the least shocking news ever, Gerrit Cole will start opening day against the Nationals on July 23. James Paxton, who would have missed the beginning of the season if it had started on time because of back surgery, will get the ball in game two of the series, likely against Stephen Strasburg.
Boone has not made any announcements yet about how the rotation will shake out after that.
James Paxton will start the second game of the season in Washington, Aaron Boone said.
