Do you collect baseball trading cards? If so, be prepared to look for some new exclusive Derek Jeter content in the near future.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Topps Company announced that they have signed Jeter to a multi-year autograph trading card deal. The Captain’s autographed cards return to Topps products for the first time in over a decade.
This is a huge announcement for Topps, who is the official trading card partner of Major League Baseball. Here’s are two of the cards that will be released as part of the collection.
The first editions of Jeter’s autographed cards will appear in the 2016 Topps Dynasty Baseball and Baseball Transcendent collections. Jeter will also be featured in future 2017 Topps products.
In honor of the announcement, Topps is giving some of their fans some exclusive Jeter content. All fans who access the Topps BUNT digital trading card app this week will receive a digital version of Jeter’s 1993 rookie card.
David Leiner, the Vice President and General Manager of North American Sports and Entertainment at Topps, released a statement on the excitement of this new deal with the future Hall of Famer.
“Adding Derek Jeter autographs to our trading card products will be thrilling for collectors. He is one of the most prolific and well-known players of our time, and his addition is one collectors will be clamoring for.”
With the announcement of Jeter’s autographed cards, the release of the new collections should generate excitement from baseball fans all around the world. As fans look to obtain these exclusive cards, Topps products should definitely see an elevated amount of interest in the near future.
