Game 42: Yankees Bats Not Dampened By Rain

The Yankees opened the game quickly with a double by Jeter, a triple by Granderson, and a ground out by Teixeira made it 2-0. With 2 outs, Robinson Cano was hit in the back of the leg by a pitch and that started what ended up being a 5-run 1st inning.

The Yankees never looked back from there as they totaled 13 runs tonight to continue their winning ways against the Baltimore Orioles.

CC Sabathia went 8 shutout innings and striking out 9. None of the pitchers for the Orioles tonight were able to hold the Yankees scoreless.
