Robinson Cano was the producer of the offense as he drove in all 3 runs. As a team, they hit 2 for 15 with RISP. These are inabilities that occur far too often. The Yankees did not have much experience against spot-starter Carlos Villanueva and it was noticeable, as usual since they only got 2 hits & 1 run over 5 innings.
In defense of the offense, Bartolo Colon didn’t have a (now) typical outing as he issued 4 walks over 6 innings. Colon became another victim to the power of Jose Bautista as he added to his MLB-leading home run total.
