Curtis Granderson faced the lefty Brett Anderson and hit his 17th home run of the season to help Freddy Garcia defeat the Oakland Athletics.
Alex Rodriguez also came through with a bases loaded single and two hits,driving in a total of 3 runs.
Freddy Garcia pitched and defended his position turning what could have been a scary situation and made it a double play.
Mark Teixeira stole home plate for his first of the season.
