After Jacoby Ellsbury left the game, he headed right into the trainer’s room. He went for an MRI and it’s being being reported by YES Network’s Jack Curry that Ellsbury tweaked his knee enough to where he will be placed on the 15-day disabled list. The Yankees will option up CF Slade Heathcott (.280/.331/.353) to take his place.
All we know right now is that it’s a right knee injury, more accurately a right knee sprain. Ellsbury has a history of injuries, this may be another to add to his list.
