On Monday, July 6 the stars will be out in full force for the first annual Hank’s Yanks Golf Classic at the brand new Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point in the Bronx. Names scheduled to appear include the likes of Donald Trump, Alex Rodriguez, Dellin Betances, Reggie Jackson, David Cone, David Wells and Richard Gere to name a few. You can check out the entire celebrity field right here.

The purpose of the event is to raise money for the Hank’s Yanks Foundation, the Kenneth A. Smaltz Sr. Foundation for Alzheimer’s Care, and the St. Josephs Hospitals Foundation. All are 501(C)3 charities.

The day will kickoff with a celebrity golf tournament at the brand new course, which was designed by Jack Nicklaus. Located right off the Hutchinson River Parkway, the course is framed by the majestic Manhattan skyline, the Whitestone and Throgs Neck bridges and the East River. The view definitely won’t disappoint.

After the tournament, there will be a reception/cocktail hour from 5:30-6:30pm. Trump and A-Rod will be there along with the other celebrities, likely posing for pictures with donors and mingling with those in attendance. After, Dellin Betances will be honored at the awards dinner. Betances has been a big supporter of the Hank’s Yanks Foundation over the past few years.

Along with the reception and dinner there will also be a silent auction. The big prize was donated by Johnny Damon, who is unable to make it to New York that night. The package includes a foursome to play golf with Damon down at Bay Hill in Orlando, dinner with Damon, and full hotel accommodations at Disney. Airfare will be provided by Delta.

Don’t forget to enter our contest to win TWO (2) tickets to the reception/cocktail hour and the awards dinner! You can enter below.

Charities and foundations involved

Hank’s Yanks gives kids from all walks of life the chance to play baseball. Funds raised from the tournament will support the baseball activities of the teams as well as the community outreach work of the athletes. Not only do the Hank’s Yanks players play a high level of travel baseball, they also perform both individual and community service throughout the year. Hank’s Yanks was formed back in 2010 by Hank Steinbrenner with the intention of bringing in kids from tough areas and keeping them on the right track in life by playing America’s pastime.

The Kenneth A. Smaltz Sr. Foundation for Alzheimer’s Care offers support for people living with dementia, their families and caregivers and provides leadership in policy and services. The foundation also encourages and participates in research initiatives and aims to extend the knowledge and skills of others working with people with dementia.

St. Joseph’s Hospitals Foundation inspires the community to engage in philanthropic investment in the special brand of care that is found in St. Joseph’s Hospitals. The purpose of the foundation is to secure, manage and steward philanthropic support to benefit the healthcare mission of St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital North, and St. Joseph’s Hospital South, which are all located in the greater Tampa, Florida region.
