Former Yankee Andruw Jones‘ latest Instagram posts have placed him at Casa de Campo, a 5-star resort in the Dominican Republic. Jones is not alone. He is pictured, in a selfie, with beloved former Yankees Derek Jeter, Tino Martinez, and Jorge Posada. Could this have been Derek Jeter’s bachelor party?
With an apparent July 2 wedding set in Napa Valley, California, many are speculating that Jeter is celebrating his bachelor party with his closest friends. After all, Jeter was Posada’s best man in 2000. The trip also included multiple rounds of golf, as shown by Jones’ and Posada’s Instagram accounts.
During the “boys golf trip” (Posada’s Instagram’s post pictured below), the former Yankees also lounged, consumed alcoholic beverages, and, with their deeply bronzed faces, sunbathed. There have been no reports (yet) of the “boys” frequenting any nightlife spots in the Dominican Republic.
The theory that this could have been Jeter’s bachelor party and not a simple golf trip is plausible, provided that Hannah Davis apparently had her bachelorette party last week in Miami. She reportedly left Rockwell nightclub at three o’clock in the morning with a group of ten girlfriends (FOX News).
Glaringly missing from the photo are the last two Core Four members: Mariano Rivera and Andy Pettitte. When I interviewed Pettitte in April, I asked if he had plans to attend “‘a certain wedding’ anytime soon”. With a smile and a shrug, he responded: “Yea no, I got nothin’ on that. We’ll have to see about that…[but] nothin’ yet”.
With both Jeter and Davis being very private people, fans will have to wait and see how this one plays out.
