Last night the Yankees lost to the Red Sox, again, and could not gain any ground on both the Rays and Rangers. They remain 3 games back of both Wild Card spots, but with the Rangers visiting the Rays tonight for a 4 game series, a lot could change and fast. Here are how the teams in contention fared yesterday:

Rangers: 5-1 loss vs A’s. Rangers, in midst of collapse, get swept at home.

Rays: 6-4 loss vs Twins. Rays bullpen surrenders 4 runs in the 8th.

Indians: 7-1 win vs White Sox. Indians tag Chris Sale for 6 runs.

Yankees: 9-2 loss vs Red Sox. Clay Buchholz finishes sweep of Yankees.

Orioles: 3-1 win vs Blue Jays. Orioles are able to take two of three in Toronto.

Royals: 3-2 loss vs Tigers. Alex Avila homers twice for Tigers in win.
