Aaron Judge named AL Rookie of the Month
For the second month in a row, Yankees' right fielder Aaron Judge earns himself AL Rookie of the Month. Judge continued his hot streak into May after tearing the cover off the ball in April. Through 26 games last month, he hit .347 with seven home runs and 17 RBIs. During that span, the 6'7 "Baby" Bomber lead all American League rookies in batting average, hits, runs, RBIs, home runs, and on-base percentage. Judge has made history in New York by becoming the first Yankee ever to win the award twice. He is also the first Yankee to win a monthly award in consecutive months since Don Mattingly did so in 1985. Judge, who recently found himself second among outfielders in the AL all-star voting, is showing no signs of slowing down. He now has 17 homers on the year, good for the most in all of baseball. He also has scored the most runs in the American League with 41. His .326 batting average ranks him first among the Yankees, and sixth in the AL. Judge has recored 38 RBIs so far this year, and has stolen four bases as well.
