Beltran aims for return after break

Another day, another Yankee getting closer to becoming healthy. Carlos Beltran is expected to be ready to play for the Yankees during the first game after the All-Star Break against Seattle on July 17th. His plan is to make some rehab starts during the break so he's ready to contribute right after the break. He was placed on the 15 day DL due to an oblique strain on July 3rd. The switch hitter has had an up and down season, but his current slash line is .260/.309/.430 and will join a talented outfield along Brett Gardner and Jacoby Ellsbury. With Mason Williams injuring his right shoulder in late June and looking to be a while away before he returns, added pop in the lineup will help the Yankees in their push for the playoffs. Chris Young has been platooning in the outfield while the outfielders were getting healthy, but Beltran is one of the best playoff hitters ever, with a line of .333/.445/.683 line. In short, Beltran could come in handy down the road.
