Brett Gardner wins 2017 Fielding Bible Award in LF

While Brett Gardner has to wait until mid-November to find out if he won a Rawlings Gold Glove Award, the Yankees outfielder took home some hardware on Monday afternoon. Gardner won the Fielding Bible Award, which recognizes the best defensive player for each fielding position based on statistics, for the third time since the awards' existence in 2006.

This season, Gardner did something not many fielders achieve in this day and age; he's the only eligible player in Major League Baseball to play errorless defense. He is also tied for the second most outfield kills, which is when an outfielder nabs a player on the basepaths. Aaron Judge, who was also nominated for a Rawlings Gold Glove, did not win the Fielding Bible Award in right field. Instead, the honor unanimously went to Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts. Now that the Fielding Bible Award winners were announced, will the Rawlings Gold Glove Award sync up and award the most deserving fielder based on statistics? Or will there be some surprises during the unveiling? We'll just have to wait and see.
