Bronx Bombers home run alert
Keeping tabs on every home run for the New York Yankees this season. It was a game which screamed, "you can't predict baseball." A game removed from being blanked by the Bay, the Bombers busted out big time against Felix Hernandez and the Seattle Mariners. A two-run fourth, followed by a five-run fifth, made all the difference in a decisive 7-2 victory.
During the fifth, the big blow came off the bat of Mark Teixeira. With the bases packed, Teixeira hammered a 2-0 pitch to right-center, prompting Hernandez to slap his glove in disgust. The home run jumped the Yanks lead to 7-0. On the campaign, Teixeira has 15 home runs, 175 as a Yankee and 378 for his career. The home run also tied Teixeira with Bobby Murcer for 21st on the all-time franchise list.
The Bronx Bombers have 64 home runs this year.
