Bronx Bombers home run alert
Keeping tabs on every home run for the New York Yankees this season. Great pitching beats good hitting. When Stephen Drew gets your offense going, it's less than good. It was a pair of homers by Drew and Carlos Beltran which kept the Yankees alive, until ultimately falling to the Cleveland Indians 5-4 in 16 innings.
With the Yankees trailing the Tribe 2-0 in the sixth, Drew drilled a solo shot to right, off Carlos Carrasco. It was home run number 14 for Drew and cut the Cleveland lead in half.
Jumping to the eighth inning, Beltran swatted a solo wall scraper to right, also off Carrasco. Beltran's tenth round tripper was the equalizer, making it a 2-2 game.
The Bronx Bombers have 149 home runs on the campaign.
