Chance Adams to make MLB debut Saturday
According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the Yankees intend to call up Chance Adams and have him start on Saturday against the Red Sox.

This move was somewhat expected, as Luis Cessa (Saturday's original starter) pitched 3.2 innings in Thursday's loss ay Fenway. Adams was already scheduled to pitch on Saturday for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, so he will be on normal rest. Additionally, Aaron Boone said in Thursday's post-game press conference that he did not think anyone on the current pitching staff was an option to make the start on Saturday.
Adams, who was an MLB Top 100 Prospect coming into the season, has been underwhelming for the RailRiders this season. His 3-5 record with a 4.50 ERA caused him to fall out of the Top 100 and out of the Yankees' top 10 (currently No. 13).
The 23-year-old carried a 5.11 ERA through his first 15 starts. Lately, he has thrown well as he has a 3.07 ERA in his last six starts. Four days ago, Adams carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning, and finished allowing two hits and one unearned run in the loss.
Adams gets his first taste of the big leagues at a rather crucial point in the Yankees season. New York sits 6.5 games out of first place in the AL East, and will rely on a former top prospect to deliver and gain some ground on the Red Sox.
